The National Weather Service said strong to severe storms are possible in Hartford/Tolland County on Wednesday.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service said there is a chance for a strong to severe thunderstorm between 1-8 p.m. Wednesday in northern Connecticut.

"Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon from 1 to 8pm. The primary threat is large hail, but damaging wind gusts are possible especially across western MA and northern CT," according to the National Weather Service.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then a slight chance of showers after 4pm. High near 74. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Showers likely, mainly between 7pm and 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 47. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 53. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Night: A chance of rain, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
