Two Hartford Nightclubs Fined, Face Suspension Of Permits: State

Both nightclubs, located on Franklin Avenue, have already paid fines and face suspension of liquor permits later this winter.

HARTFORD, CT — Two Hartford nightclubs have paid fines and will have their liquor permits temporarily suspended for various violations of the state's liquor control division.

According to the state Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Commission, those night clubs are "Club Drina" at 497 Franklin Ave., Hartford, and "The Flaming Llama" at 318-320 Franklin Ave., Hartford.

State officials said the owners of "The Flaming Llama" have already paid a $2,000 fine and it will have its liquor permit suspended for one day on Feb. 13, which is a Tuesday.

According to documents from the Connecticut Liquor Control Commission, "The Flaming Llama" was cited for two seprate violations: failure to apply for permits/renewals and two counts of violations of conduct on the premises (brawls/disturbances and smoking).

Meanwhile, "Club Drina" owners paid a $5,000 fine and their liquor control permit will be suspended March 11-15, which is a Monday-Friday period, according to state officials.

According to the state, "Club Drina" was cited for several violations, including: violation of permit recording requirements; not having a permit hung in plain view; not having a name sign of the permittee; conduct on permit premises (gambling); not having age statement forms; not having restrictions on sales and purchases by the permittee; and violations of purchase for resale.
