Urban League Grtr Hartford to Host Oct 29 Family “Trunk or Treat"
Safe distribution of prepackaged candy & treats from decorated cars/booths in tailgate-style, plus fun hands-on events. Costumes encouraged.

Hartford-area children and families are invited to the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s second annual “Trunk or Treat” on Friday, October 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. outdoors in the parking lot of the Urban League’s office at 140 Woodland St. (corner of Woodland St. and Sargeant St.) in Hartford. In case of rain, the event will be held that next Friday, November 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Community organizations, businesses, and individuals will safely distribute prepackaged candy and treats from decorated cars and booths in a tailgate-style. Featured will be a deejay, Double-Dutch jump rope demonstrations, children’s books giveaway, arts & crafts, and a variety of door prizes. Local performing artist Versatile Poetiq will be the event’s emcee.
- Attendees are invited to come in costume, and there will be a 5:00 p.m. costume parade for all ages.
- Free handwipes, hand sanitizers and masks will be dispersed at the event, as well as fresh produce grown in the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s indoor Aeroponic Garden.
- Masks should be worn throughout the event and COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed.
- Children ages 12 and under should be accompanied by an adult. No advance registration is needed.
- Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned or packaged nonperishable food item that will be distributed in the community.
