Drunk Driver Caught Going 107 MPH, Ledyard Police Say

A drunk driver was going more than double the speed limit in Ledyard, according to police.

LEDYARD, CT — A woman is accused of driving 107 MPH while drunk, according to police. She also had a gun on her at the time of the arrest.

Police were patrolling Route 2 in Ledyard at 1:27 a.m. Friday when they spotted a vehicle going 107 MPH in a 50 MPH zone.

Police stopped the vehicle in Preston west of Shewville Road.

Police said the driver, Jessica L. Nadeau-Oullette, 43, of Newington, smelled like alcohol and had glassy eyes and slurred speech.

She failed sobriety tests, then was arrested and taken to the Ledyard Police Department. Police also said she had a gun in her pocketbook.

Nadeau-Oullette was charged with DUI, illegal carry of a firearm under influence of drugs or alcohol, and reckless driving.

Bond was set at $10,000. She was scheduled to appear in court May 27.
