Drunk Driver Hit Mailboxes, Argued With Homeowners, Ledyard Police Say

A man is accused of striking several mailboxes while driving drunk, then arguing with homeowners, police said.

LEDYARD, CT — A man is facing charges after police say he struck several mailboxes while driving drunk, then got into an argument with homeowners.

Police received several calls at 7:14 p.m. Friday reporting a Dodge Ram pickup driving on Vinegar Hill Road that was striking multiple mailboxes.

Police responded and found the truck stuck on a rock pile in a nearby driveway.

Police said the driver was "intoxicated and uncooperative."

He also had gotten into an argument with nearby homeowners, according to police.

Franciczek Palosz, 56, of North Franklin, was charged with disorderly conduct, threatening, risk of injury to a minor, and interfering/resisting arrest.

Bond was set at $50,000. He was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Monday.
