Ledyard Firefighters Mourning Loss of Friend and Firefighter

The Ledyard Fire Company shared a touching tribute to a friend, as they mourn the loss and honor his life:

"The Ledyard Fire Company joins our brothers and sisters throughout the state of Connecticut in mourning the passing of Rev. Ed Goetz, Chaplain of the Connecticut State Firefighters Association and long time instructor of the Connecticut Fire Academy.

So many in the state's fire service wouldn't be where they are today without his guiding hand. Please keep Ed and his wife Cathy in your thoughts and prayers.

A familiar blessing he often said:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Rest in peace my friend."
