On Thursday, Jan. 29, driver Meghean Walker, 19, of Mashantucket, got into a car accident in which she reportedly lost control and struck a guardrail that went through the front of the car, where Brett Drake was sitting as a passenger.
Drake was reportedly trapped in the car and transported to the hospital via Life Star, according to The Day. He later died from the injuries.
Walker reportedly sustained minor injuries.

How to Help the Family

An update to the GoFundMe page was posted on Monday, Feb. 1:
“It is with a heavy heart that this post even needs to be made. Early this morning (February 1st), Brett succumbed to his injuries sustained during a car accident a few days ago.
We have held hope, prayed, and remained optimistic that Brett would pull through and face a long road of recovery. Unfortunately, Creator had other plans and took Brett to join Cliff and a host of others in the Sky World.
This has left us devastated and questioning this unbelievable tragedy. The original goal of this campaign was to raise money to update Michelle’s home for the time when Brett would be able to come home. The focus has now shifted to raise funds for Brett’s final arrangements and funeral expenses.
Any donation no matter the size is appreciated beyond words. Please continue to pray for the family!”
