Ledyard Police Arrest Stonington Man on DUI Charge

The officer's radar allegedly clocked the car as traveling at 58 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone.

On Thursday, March 17, at approximately 11:25 a.m, a Ledyard Police Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. According to the Ledyard Police Department, the officer's radar showed the car traveling at 58 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone.

Upon stopping Stonington resident Alan Ross, 51, of 243 Wolfneck Rd., for allegedly speeding, the officer found that Ross was allegedly under the influence.

He was placed under arrest on charges of speeding and driving under the influence. Ross was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in New London court on March 31.
