Mahoney's Advice to Softball Players

Ellen Mahoney began the softball program at Ledyard High School decades ago and on Saturday afternoon, school officials - past and present - were happy to announce that the softball fields behind the school will bear her name.

She gratefully accepted the honor but she didn't have to stand alone. She did so surrounded by family; from her mom and grand nieces to past players and assistant coaches stood by her side and applauded her.
