Man Charged With Murder In Fatal Shooting Of Ledyard Man, Police Say
A man was arrested in Rhode Island this week in connection with a homicide, police said.

NEW LONDON, CT — A man is facing charges in connection with a fatal shooting in March, police said.
Navarre Zeigler, 21, of New London, was arrested in Rhode Island on Wednesday.
On March 18 at 6:18 p.m., police responded to Moore Avenue in New London on a report of shots fired and a possible gunshot wound victim.

Officers arrived and found a man who had been shot in the torso. Police provided medical aid.
The victim, Avery Rivera, 20, of Ledyard, was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for further treatment. He was later pronounced dead.

Police said the incident did not appear to be random.
Zeigler was arrested in North Providence, Rhode Island by New London police along with assistance from the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshal Service.
He was charged with murder, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence.
He was held on $1 million cash/surety bond.
