Man Had Fake Cash, Nearly 2 Lbs. Of Pot: Ledyard Police
Police said they caught the man near Foxwoods early Monday morning and now he's facing several charges.
LEDYARD, CT — A man is accused of having a large amount of marijuana, fake cash, and a replica handgun, according to Ledyard police.
Police were patrolling Route 214 in the area near Foxwoods at 1:36 a.m. Monday when an officer spotted a vehicle facing the wrong direction with its emergency flashers on.
The driver was identified as James Cotter-Swetz, 18, of Wallingford. Police said he had 884 grams of marijuana in the car, including a quart-sized bag of pot.

Police also said they found digital scales, fake U.S. currency, packaging materials, and a Glock 19X 9mm replica “BB” handgun.
Cotter-Swetz was charged with third-degree forgery, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

He was held on $10,000 cash/surety bond and scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Monday morning.
