Man Killed In Ledyard Crash; ID Released: Police
The man died in an accident Thursday morning when his car struck a rock wall in Ledyard.

LEDYARD, CT — A man was killed when his car struck a rock wall in Ledyard on Thursday morning, according to police.
Police responded to a report of a single-car crash on Mathewson Mill Road at 9:50 a.m. A caller reported that the vehicle had struck a tree and that the driver was unconscious.
An initial investigation found that a 2011 Subaru Outlook was driving north when it crossed into the other lane, continued into the shoulder, and hit a rock wall.

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene of the accident and provided treatment. The driver, Peter M. Weber, 72, of Ledyard, was taken to Backus Hospital in Norwich where he later died due to his injuries.
The Southeastern Regional Traffic Unit is investigating.
