• Colonels sprint to a win over Whalers in girls' basketball (theday.com) — Ledyard High’s girls’ basketball team powered past New London 51-34, bouncing back from two straight losses behind a near triple‑double from senior guard Maggie Dykes and a strong night from sophomore post Julia Bonser. Coach Mike Morgan praised the Colonels’ depth, pace, and renewed energy as 12 players saw action and nine scored in the Eastern Connecticut Conference matchup.
   

• Special election results: Democrat Iris Sanchez wins House seat (ctmirror.org) — Ledyard is part of a key 139th House District vacancy that will be filled in a special election next week, following Democrat Iris Sanchez’s win in New Britain’s 25th District. Her victory expands the Democratic majority at the Capitol to 101–49, raising the stakes for who will next represent Ledyard, Montville, and Norwich when the legislature convenes in February.
