'Patriot Plunge': NFL Players Compete In Great Wolf Resort Fundraiser
The massive water park has pushed up its opening date. Three NFL players will be the first to try out the resort's water slides in May.
MASHANTUCKET, CT —Three New England Patriots players will be racing to ride as many water slides as they can in a fundraiser coming up at the new Great Wolf Lodge.
"Patriot Plunge" will raise money for Make-A-Wish, which helps "grant life-changing experiences for children with critical illnesses," according to a statement.
Cornerback Christian Gonzalez, defensive end Keion White, and center David Andrews will be the first to take on the resort's 92,000-square-foot indoor water park.

The event will be May 4 at 10 a.m.
The massive Great Wolf Lodge resort is now anticipated to open ahead of schedule on May 9. Previously the resort planned to open May 23.

Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket will be the resort's 23rd location in North America and the third in the Northeast.
The resort will feature 13 water slides, including the exclusive Pequot Plunge, and Otter Cave Waterworks, a multi-level interactive play structure inspired by the Great Wolf Pack.
Great Wolf will also include 549 hotel rooms on 13 acres of land adjacent to Foxwoods Resort Casino.
A 61,000-square-foot family entertainment center, dubbed Great Wolf Adventure Park, is also in the works. It will include virtual-reality experiences, a ropes course, a miniature golf course, an arcade, and more.
Great Wolf Lodge is now hiring for numerous positions. The company will hold hiring events from March 13 to 26 in Norwich. More information is available here.
