Scam Alert: Police Warn of Publishers Clearing House Scam
Ledyard Police received several calls about a scam involving a million dollar prize, a Mercedes Benz and a request to wire money.
The Ledyard Police Department received several calls Tuesday, March 2, reporting a Publishers Clearing House scam.
“Someone informs you that you have won a million dollar prize and/or a Mercedes Benz and in order to claim the prize, you must either give your bank information to them or wire $950 to a specific location,” police said. “There are slight variations in how the scammers present the information, but the bottom line is this... It’s a scam!”
