Date Set For Madison Budget Referendum: Report
Voters will have their say next month on the town's 2017-18 spending plan.

MADISON, CT — Voters will cast ballots next month on Madison's proposed 2017-18 budget of $81,885,644, reports The Source.
The town's proposed spending plan represents a 2.61 percent increase over the current year's allocation, or just over $2 million more. The budget referendum is scheduled for May 16.
Much that increase is due to a rise in proposed education spending to $56.9 million, even though the district is eliminating more than seven teaching positions.
