Fred Astaire Dance Studios Madison Honored with Top Studio and Instructor Awards in 2025

The Fred Astaire Dance Studios of the Connecticut Region came together at The Patterson Club in Fairfield, CT on Saturday, January 10, 2026, for their annual Training & Awards 2026 Conference. The gathering celebrated the impressive successes of studios and instructors over the past year across the region, with the team at Fred Astaire Dance Studios Madison taking special pride in their achievements.
One of the standout moments of the afternoon was the recognition of dance instructor Khrystyna Mendela, who received 1st Place Professional Top Competition Entries. This prestigious honor is awarded based on the total number of competition entries across all Fred Astaire Championships in 2025, including regional, inter-regional, and national events. Khrystyna’s dedication, passion, and commitment to her students have made her a true standout professional in the Connecticut region.
Throughout 2025, Khrystyna competed in more than seven Pro-Am competitions, partnering with amateur students. Her competitive journey included major events such as the Cross Country Dance Championships in New York, the Fred Astaire World Championships in Las Vegas, the Fred Astaire National Dance Championships in Orlando, the New England Freddy Ball in Springfield, and numerous others.
Denys Fesenko was also honored, receiving the 1st Place Top Advanced Teaching Specialist Award, a recognition based on the total number of enrollments for advanced-level students. His dedication, expertise, and consistent support of his students have made him a leading instructor in the region.
In addition to individual achievements, Fred Astaire Dance Studios Madison was awarded the highly sought-after 1st place Top Studio Award and 1st place Top Competition Entries, reflecting the team’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. The studio also received the Million Miler Award, recognizing extraordinary growth and the milestone of reaching a significant achievement in student participation and success.
The Madison team attributes these accomplishments to the leadership and guidance of Regional Director Tony Dovolani and Regional Dance Director Anastasia Abrashin, whose support and encouragement have been instrumental in their success.
