Horses Rescued From Fire At Barn In Madison

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control, authorities said.

MADISON, CT — Multiple horses were safely evacuated from a barn fire early Sunday in Madison, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel responded around 2:45 a.m. to Northern Durham Road, arriving to find a fire with heavy smoke coming from the barn and horses in the process of being evacuated, according to the North Madison Volunteer Fire Co.

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control, authorities said, noting the fire did not extend to the horse stalls. Numerous neighboring agencies assisted in the response.
