House Appears To Have Been Struck By Lightning In Madison: FD
The incident occurred Sunday at a home on Boston Post Road, according to Madison Hose Company No. 1.
MADISON, CT — Firefighters in Madison on Sunday extinguished a house fire, after it appeared that the home had been struck by lightning, according to authorities.
The blaze was reported just after 7 p.m. at 108 Boston Post Road, a two-and-a-half story wood frame single family home.
"There appears to have been a lightening strike on the house, however, the cause is still under investigation by the Fire Marshals office," Assistant Chief Greg Carroll of Madison Hose Co. 1 told Patch in a statement.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw light smoke coming from the roofline, and a fire was located along the gutter line on the rear of the house.
"Fire was extinguished in 15 minutes with minimal extension," Carroll said. "One occupant, the owner, and his dog were at home at the time of the fire. No injuries to the owner or firefighters."

Madison Hose Co. 1 received mutual aid from the fire departments in North Madison, Guilford, Clinton and Killingworth.
