Kendra Lena and Brendan Bilcheck, Daniel Hand High School, were selected by the Athletic Department and the Hartford Courant as its choice for Top Scholar Athletes.
Selection for the award is based on grade-point average and overall athletic achievement. Lena will attend Trinity College and committed Early Decision to their soccer program.
Bilcheck will attend Bowdoin College and committed to their football program. Â Â Lena earned Top Offensive Player and MVP senior year as well as All Area, All State and All SCC.
She was a four year varsity starting player at both Daniel Hand and Miss Porter's School where she was named captain.
Bilcheck, quarterback, was a key contributor to HAND earning two straight Class L State Championship titles.
Both will continue their athletic careers and participate in the NESCAC Athletic Conference (New England Small College Athletic Conference).Â
