Madison Library Expansion Project Receives a Big Boost: Report

Officials say because more donations are coming in it will mean less funds are needed from the town.

MADISON, CT — Good news if you're an advocate of the planned renovation and expansion to the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library.

Library Director Beth Cowley told the Madison Source another $1 million has been obtained via a private foundation. A total of $4.3 million is available for the project and $14 million is needed.

Less than $10 million is now likely needed to borrow from the town to complete the project, when officials had thought $12 million would be needed initially, the Madison Source reports.
