Madison Named One of the Safest Places to Live in the United States

Town officials shared the good news earlier this week.

MADISON, CT — Madison is among the safest in America, according to a new study by SafeWise, town officials said Monday.

The SafeWise Report released its “100 Safest Cities in America” report on April 3, 2017. To compile this report, SafeWise used the most recent complete FBI crime data from 2015 to analyze and rank these cities, which all have a minimum population of 10,000 people. Madison ranked the 14th safest in the entire country.

“We were impressed to see so many returning cities this year. There is a lot that the nation can learn about community policing, the walkability of safe streets, and collaboration between police and neighborhood watch programs to help improve the safety of our cities,” said SafeWise security analyst, Olga Papadimitriou.
