Madison School Board Wins Lawsuit Over Teacher's Sex Misconduct
Lawsuits against Madison school district have been dismissed by a judge; the plaintiffs wanted district liable for teacher's sex assaults.
MADISON, CT - A Superior Court judge granted judgment to the Madison Board of Education in a civil suit over the sexual misconduct of a former teacher against her students, according to a story in the Connecticut Law Tribune.
The Tribune reports that Judge James Abrams made his ruling in the three consolidated cases filed on behalf of students against the Board of Education and Daniel Hand High School Principal Anthony Salutari.
The case involves ex-teacher Allison Marchese, who was sentenced to three years in prison in 2017 for her sexual misconduct. The students in their suit claimed that the district should have been aware of Marchese's actions.
