Early Admission to Kindergarten
Last year the Connecticut General Assembly voted to raise the minimum age for automatic entry into public school in Connecticut. Effective July 2024, Section 1 of Public Act 23-208 states that children will need to turn five on or before September 1 of the school year in order to be automatically eligible to enroll in school. For our families who have a student who will not make the September 1 cutoff to enroll in kindergarten next year, we have established a process for families to apply for early admission to kindergarten in Fall 2024. Please use the link below to learn more about eligibility requirements and complete the application process. General Kindergarten enrollment for those students granted early admission and/or who will be five (5) on or before September 1, 2024 will open in mid-spring.

If you know of a family who has a student who may be kindergarten age next school year, we would ask that you share this information with them. We will be sharing the process with preschools and daycares but don’t want to miss anyone who may be planning on having a student attend Kindergarten next school year.
