Madison Town Clerk Urges Residents To Sign Up For Fraud Alert Program

"With Fraud Alert, you can sign up to receive alerts whenever a document, such as a deed or mortgage, is recorded under your name."

MADISON, CT — The Madison Town Clerk's Office offers a Fraud Alert program through Quick Solutions, the town's recording company, and officials are urging residents to take advantage of it.

Under the program, anytime a document is recorded in your name at the Town Clerk’s Office, you will receive an email alert.

Only a "few hundred Madison property owners" had signed up for the program as of last week, according to First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons.

"Quick Solutions (IQS), provides a free tool to help property owners protect their most valuable assets," Lyons wrote in a Community Update. "With Fraud Alert, you can sign up to receive alerts whenever a document, such as a deed or mortgage, is recorded under your name. Please note there may be other property owners in town that share the same name. However, if you have signed up for Fraud Alert, once a document is indexed you would receive an email alert of such recording, and notifies you to contact the Town Clerk’s office for details."
