Rabies Clinic Planned For May; Dog Licensing Required In June

June 1 is the official start of licensing season, but the Town Clerk's Office in Madison will start providing licenses May 20th as a courtesy. Every dog owner must visit the Town Clerk's Office by June 28 to renew their license.

The town of Madison's Town Clerk's Office has sent out a reminder that June is dog licensing month. 

And, every dog that has a license renewed in June is eligible to be entered in the town's "Top Dog" random drawing! The winning dog will receive Madison dog tag No. 1. 

According to the Town Clerk's Office, "Every dog must be licensed when it reaches six months of age and then annually in June, according to ... the Connecticut General Statutes."

Rabies vaccinations must be up to date. If yours has expired, you must bring an updated valid rabies certificate. 

There will be a rabies clinic Sunday, May 19th from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Help Willy's Friends 5th Annual Pet Fair, at Coginchaug Regional High School, 135 Picket Lane, Durham, CT. For more information please visit, www.helpwillysfriends.org.

Please include a check for the applicable fee, payable to "Madison Town Clerk," along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. 

Dog license fees are as follows: 

Neutered male/spayed female: $8.00
Un-neutered male/un-spayed female: $19.00
Late fee: $1 per month
Checks payable to Madison Town Clerk
