Suspected Armed Kidnapping Ends In Madison: CT State Police

The incident ended during the overnight hours of Thursday, according to Connecticut State Police.

MADISON, CT — A reported armed kidnapping, which Connecticut State Police said began in Rhode Island, ended early Thursday in Madison with a suspect in custody and a firearm seized by authorities.

Details of who was arrested, and what charges that person faces, were not immediately available.

Connecticut State Police were asked by Rhode Island authorities to be on the lookout for a vehicle that reportedly had been involved in an armed kidnapping in Providence.

"At approximately 1:57 am, a Trooper located the vehicle in question at the Madison rest area [on I-95], and determined it was occupied by a male and a female," state police wrote in a news release. "The male party was subsequently detained based off of the Providence [be on the lookout notice], and a firearm was located & seized."
