Vote Is in On Madison Town and School Budget Referendum
Voters in Madison weighed in Tuesday on a budget for next year that called for a 2 percent hike in spending. See how the vote went.
MADISON, CT - The 2019-2020 Madison town budgets passed by an approximate 2-1 voter margin in Tuesday’s referendum, according to unofficial results tabulated right after the polls closed at 8 p.m.
Nearly 2,000 votes were cast and, again, both budgets easily passed with an approximate two yes votes for every no vote on both the town and education side.
The combined town and schools fiscal year 2019-’20 budget comes to $84,788,943, an increase in spending over last year of $1,721,742 or 2.07 percent.
