"5 Things You Need to Know..." About Monday, Feb. 14, Valentine's Day

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's Valentine's Day - and we got the lowdown on things to do for, and places to take, that special someone - but there's also a lot of other things going on in the Manchester area today. 

1. It's . If you're still looking for a last minute gift, Connecticut is home to more than its fair share of . And if you're looking for the perfect place to for two tonight, we've got that covered as well (although you still gotta pick up the tab).

2. For the real romantics, though, there's a Board of Education meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room. The agenda includes an update on the status of snow removal from the roofs of the town's many schools and a presentation on the school system's updated Racial Balance Plan. 

3. Monday also marks the first day that postal services will be offered at the Just What You Always Wanted consignment furniture store at 974 Main St. The hours for postal service will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

4. Monday is also the first day you can catch members of the  on Jack Peak's local Manchester Review talk show. The broadcasts will air every Monday in February from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Cox Channel 15. Oh, and Manchester Patch will be Peak's guest in March. 

5. And Monday's temperature is forecasted to be partly sunny with a high that could reach up into the mid-40ºs F, according to the National Weather Service, with balmy temperatures expected to continue throughout the week. You know, maybe was right.
