"5 Things You Need to Know..." About New Year's Eve Events, Visual Preference Surveys and "Pizza, Parachutes & Bingo"
Wether you need New Year Even plans or were wondering if the weather calls for the heavier jacket today, we lay it all out for you.

1. The National Weather Service says Wednesday will be party sunny with a high of 36 degrees. The low is forecasted to be about 17 degrees late Wednesday evening. And it will be a lot less windier than it's been in recent days, with gusts forecasted to be no higher than 8 miles per hour.Â
2. Still need New Year's Eve plans? Calendar editor Barbara Bresnahan provides a plethora of options sure to suit every and any taste in her New Year's Eve .Â
3. All girl's basketball tournament games cancelled Monday evening because of the snow will be played Wednesday at 6 p.m., while the Manchester High School girls basketball team is scheduled to play Norwich Free Academy at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the high school's main gym.Â

4. Need a place to take the kids this week while they're still off for vacation? The Mary Cheney Library will be hosting a "Pizza, Parachute & Bingo" party beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Call the library at 860-643-2471 for more information.
5. And there's still time to participate in the Broad Street Visual Preference Survey via a link on the town's website, and provide your two cents on what a rezoned Broad Street area should look like, but the last day to do so is Friday, Dec. 31.Â
