MANCHESTER, CT — Someone fell through a ceiling at a big box business in Manchester early Monday morning, fire officials said.

The incident took place at about 7 a.m. at BJ's Wholesale Club, 1046 Tolland Turnpike.

Initial scanner reports indicated someone may have fallen from a roof, but Fire Chief Dan French said vial email that the fall was from a drop ceiling.

Though it was "not a particularly long fall," and the person "was alert and conscious," the person was taken to an area hospital for precautionary reasons, French said.

Fire officials did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the fall.
