Garage on Wadsworth Street Collapses
No injuries were caused when the building's roof caved in on Saturday morning.
A four bay garage collapsed in Manchester this morning at the corner of Summit and Wadsworth streets. There were no injuries caused by the collapse.
The garage had been slowly losing its structural integrity as snow and ice accumulated on its roof, according to Walford Walker, who resides at the home on 35 Wadsworth St. where the garage is located. The garage is completely detached from the house.
A building inspector from the town of Manchester had condemned the garage on Wednesday, according to a notice posted on the building. Walker said there was a loud noise on Saturday morning when the garage’s roof finally caved in.
