A weekend basement fire kept responders busy in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — A house fire erupted in Manchester Saturday afternoon.
The blaze broke out at 3:01 p.m. at 699 West Middle Turnpike, fire officials said. Responding companies found a fire in the basement, and surrounded the scene, fire officials said.
The fire was brought under control and no injuries were reported. Heavy smoke was seen billowing from a garage and main-floor rooms firefighters had to work their way around a jacked-up car in the driveway.
