Manchester Cops Snag Man Wanted In Vernon Drug Sales Case

A man wanted in a drug sales case was caught in Manchester and charged in Vernon, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — A man wanted for suspected drug sales in Vernon has been caught in Manchester, police said.

Simmie Freeman, 39, of East Hartford, was charged on the warrant with possession of narcotics with the intent to sell , interfering with police and tampering with physical evidence. Vernon police identified the drugs as crack cocaine, powder cocaine and "raw" fentanyl.

Freeman posted a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on March 3, according to an arrest report.

Freeman was transferred to authorities in Vernon after being picked up last week by police in Manchester. He was pulled over near the intersection of West Center Street and Proctor Road in Manchester for a moving violations "several" equipment violations, according to an arrest report.
