MANCHESTER — Manchester police Friday said they have made an arrest in a stolen car case that led to the seizure of drugs and guns.

Police said that, on Tuesday, they arrested 25-year-old Ocarterria Johnson, of Manchester, following an investigation into a stolen vehicle and suspected narcotics activity.

Officers located Johnson driving a vehicle outside his residence that had been reported stolen out of New York and during the stop, officers located a substantial quantity of marijuana and items "consistent with the sale and distribution of controlled substances," according to an incident report.

Investigators subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant for Johnson’s residence in Manchester and a search resulted in the seizure of additional marijuana, U.S. currency, and three firearms, according to an incident report.

One gun was identified as an illegal assault weapon and the two additional firearms had serial numbers that appeared to have been intentionally altered or obliterated, according to an incident report.

Johnson was taken into custody and held on a $750,000 bond. He has a court date of Dec. 8.

He has been charged with:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of a motor vehicle with a changed identification number
  • Illegal alteration of a motor vehicle with a changed identification number
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Sale of a Controlled Substance
  • Interfering with police
  • First-degree criminal mischief
  • Operating a drug factory
  • Altering or removing identification marks on a firearm (2 counts)
  • Illegal possession of an assault weapon
  • Illegal possession of large capacity magazines

"This remains an active investigation. No further information is being released at this time," police said.
