Rebuilding Together Manchester and Sears Team Up to Fix Vietnam Veteran's Roof

is teaming with for a rebuild, one of a series occurring across the country throughout the spring.

The Manchester project will see the two groups tackle the roof of Vietnam veteran Gary Novak's Falknor Drive home. Novak was a Private first Class in the Army who is now disabled due to complications of exposure to agent orange while serving in Vietnam. He is unable to work due to this and other disabilities so his income is limited. The roof on Gary’s house is missing shingles and has begun to leak. Sears Holdings through its Heroes at Home program in partnership with Rebuilding Together will provide this veteran with a new roof.  

Heroes at Home projects are key rebuilding initiatives for Rebuilding Together. Since 2007, Rebuilding Together and Sears’ Heroes at Home program have rebuilt veterans’ homes and community centers to help improve the lives of our nation’s military families through critical renovations.

Rebuilding Together Manchester is an affiliate of Rebuilding Together, the nation’s leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership by revitalizing communities nationwide. Rebuilding Together Manchester and Sears Holdings will work together with several volunteers to engage local community members and businesses. 

Sears’ Heroes at Home program plans to complete more than 150 projects throughout the country this spring, and to-date has raised more than $15 million to help veterans and their families live in viable and safe homes. Rebuilding Together has completed more than 1,100 rebuilding projects for veterans across the country.
