Plans For Historic Restaurant Chain To Set Up In Glastonbury Plaza Clear Regulatory Hurdle
The Colony Grill plans are moving through the regulatory process in Glastonbury.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Glastonbury Architectural and Site Design Review Committee has given a positive opinion on a plan to convert the former Coldwater Creek retail space to to the latest location of the Colony Grill chain of restaurants.
Colony Grill is a chain known for thin-crust bar-style pizza with as "hot oil" topping. Connecticut locations include Milford, Fairfield, Norwalk and Stamford, and there is one close to the Greenwich town line in Port Chester, NY.
The Stamford location goes back to 1935. Colony took over the space in Port Chester once occupied by a hot dog shack in the 1970s. Though the Glastonbury conversion is not as involved, the first location in Hartford County is to feature a new rear entry and outdoor dining.

The Architectural and Site Design Review Committee OK'd a dining canopy with a black theme, but not high enough to interfere with the nearby frieze board.
The committee recommended adding an entry from the parking area.
