MANCHESTER — Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates Wednesday announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for abandoning a dog at the Buckland Hills Walmart in Manchester.

Police and the Manchester Animal Control Division said the incident occurred on Saturday.

At about 5 p.m., a dog was found alone in a crate at the south end of a parking lot, between Walmart and Savers.

Desmond's President Zilla Cannamella said, "This isn't just an abandonment — it's a betrayal of the unbreakable bond we share with our four-legged family members. "Seeing this sweet soul left alone and vulnerable breaks every animal lover's heart, but it also ignites our resolve. We're calling on our community to help us deliver justice, because no pet deserves to be discarded like yesterday's trash."

Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates and Manchester Police Animal Control are urging anyone with information on the case — like dash cam footage or from shoppers in the area, to come forward via 860-645-5516.

"Pet abandonment is a preventable tragedy, and rewards like this one send a clear message. We will not stand idly by," Cannamella said.
