MANCHESTER, CT — A Manchester-based food truck specializing in shaved Hawaiian ice will be at it again with free treats on Tax Day 2024.

Kona's celebrates it annual National "Chill Out Day" on April 15. Franchise trucks station themselves at popular locations in towns across the country for the promotion.

"National Chill Out Day is Kona Ice's way of helping the nation unwind amidst the tax season frenzy," Kona officials said. "It's a small gesture with a big impact, bringing smiles and relaxation to communities with free treats. Each Kona truck participates in community fundraisers, donating a portion of their earnings back to local schools and organizations."

Through partnerships with schools, youth sports leagues, and local organizations, Kona Ice has contributed more than $180 million back to the communities it serves.

Brenda Burkey, the owner of Kona Ice of Manchester will be with her truck at Highland Park Market, 317 Highland St., on Monday from from 4 to 6 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday at 59 Tolland Turnpike.
