More Severe Weather Forecast For Northern CT + New Update On Hurricane Lee Track
Hurricane Lee is now a category 3 storm, and the forecast track has "shifted slightly" to the east. Here's what it means for northern CT.
HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — A flood watch has been issued from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
"Highly saturated conditions continue across much of Southern New England, and some locations are still recovering from severe flooding that occurred on Monday," the weather service said. "A slow moving frontal system moving in will bring another round of slow-moving downpours and embedded thunderstorms from west to east. One to two inches of rain are forecast, although localized amounts up to four inches are possible. This will worsen existing flooding and/or trigger new areas of flooding."

"The latest track from the National Hurricane Center has shifted Lee slightly east. The “cone of uncertainty” no longer includes portions of southern New England," wrote WFSB 3 TV Meteorologists Mark Dixon and Melissa Cole.
"Though, with this storm being so close by, we still may have some impacts locally. Right now, we can expect wind and high clouds to increase Friday into Friday night. Saturday will be a windy and mostly cloudy day with temps in the 70s. Should the track nudge back west, we may deal with tropical storm force winds and the possibility of rain on Saturday, especially over the eastern third of the state. At this point in time, a shift farther west is not looking as likely, based on recent model data." (Read/Watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
