Town Taxes Due August 1st

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Okay, maybe not… 

But, if you haven't already done so, time is running out to pay your Manchester motor vehicle tax bill and the first installment for all real estate and personal property taxes. Taxes are due to be in the mail or paid in person to the Town of Manchester Office of Assessment and Collection, 41 Center St., by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.

Vehicles registered after Oct. 1, 2011 will be billed in January 2013, and do not appear on the July 2012 tax bill. 

Late payments will result in an interest charge of 1.5 percent per month from the July 1, 2012 due date. The minimum interest charge is $2. The town encourages residents who are paying late to call the Office of Assessment and Collection at 860-647-3018 to find out the correct amount due.

There will be no mailing for the second installment of the real estate and personal property tax bills. Both payment coupons were included in the bill mailed in June.

If you have questions regarding personal property assessment questions, call 860-647-3015. Questions regarding motor vehicle assessments can be directed to 860-647-3017.

The will be open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will remain open until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.
