West Hartford Teacher From Manchester Facing Impairing Morals Charge
A Manchester resident is accused of improper contact while working as a teacher at a private school in West Hartford, police said.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A Manchester resident who is a teacher at a private school in West Hartford is the subject of a criminal investigation into a student being touched inappropriately.
West Hartford police said that, on Dec. 13, they were notified by the state Department of Children and Families that a teacher from the Solomon Schechter Day School, a private school in West Hartford, was suspected of inappropriately touching a "juvenile" student.
After a "thorough investigation" by West Hartford detectives, an arrest warrant was granted and Nicholas Ricciardi, 46, of Manchester, was charged with impairing the morals of a child and second-degree breach of peace, according to an arrest report. Ricciardi posted a $40,000 bond and has a Jan. 1 court date in Hartford, police said.
