MANCHESTER, CT — A would-be armed robber fled a discount gas station Tuesday afternoon, apparently with no loot, Manchester police said.

The incident took place at Best Gas at 134 Tolland Turnpike in Manchester, near the Vernon line.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates someone dressed in all black and wearing a mask entered the store portion of the station and pulled a knife on the clerk.

The suspect fled the store and police do not believe the person took any money or merchandise, according to a preliminary report.

No injuries were reported.
