A 6-year-old boy has admitted to starting a <a href="https://patch.com/connecticut/manchester/firefighters-put-out-house-fire-0">fire at 308 West Center St.</a> on Monday afternoon.Firefighters responded to the home and upon arrival, discovered that a small fire involving bed linens and some clothing in a bedroom had been extinguished by an adult son of the homeowner. There was light smoke in the house that was cleared by mechanical ventilation. Manchester Fire Chief David Billings said a 6-year-old child, a nephew of the homeowner, admitted to playing with a lighter and starting the fire. He will be referred to a juvenile firesetter program for professional followup. There were no injuries and the family was able to reoccupy the house.
