2nd Arrest Made In Mansfield Hotel Room Trashing Incident

MANSFIELD, CT — A second arrest has been made in connection with a hotel room trashing incident in Mansfield, sate police said.

On Dec. 5, state police served a warrant to 39-year-old Plainfield resident Julianna Klimaszewski that charged her with first-degree criminal mischief and the use of drug paraphernalia. She now joins Justin Cochran, 35, who was taken into custody in July and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, along with the use of drug paraphernalia, according to a warrant. Cochran has been in custody on a $15,000 bond and is due for another court appearance in Rockville on Dec. 12, according to judicial system records.

The incident dates back to March 6, when a manager at the Inn at Storrs discovered a heavily damaged room that had been rented out to Cochran and a "female companion" for two nights, according to a warrant.

The damage was estimated at $6,215.06, according to receipts cited in a warrant. State police said that they encountered orange "folds" consistent with narcotics use scattered about the hotel room when they entered it.

According to a warrant, the room was "a mess" and the damage included:

  • Cereal spilled all over a bed
  • A TV with a smashed screen and a remote control that was broken in half
  • A "blue substance" in the tub and on the ceiling that appeared to be candle wax
  • A toilet seat that had been pulled off
  • Trash dispersed through the room
  • A tissue box holder ripped from the wall
  • A broken chair
  • Several broken clothes hangers
  • A hole punched in a wall
  • Cigarette marks on a lampshade

According to judicial system records, Corcoran was sentenced, on Halloween Day in 2023, to 11 months in prison, suspended after 30 days, along with three years of probation, for second-degree criminal mischief.

He was subsequently charged with violating probation, according to a separate warrant.

Police tracked down Cochrane via a passports used at check-in and a pill bottle found in the room with the female companion's name on it, according to a warrant.
