3 Mansfield Residents Awarded Prestigious ECSU Foundation Scholarships

Eastern Connecticut State University recently announced its list of ECSU Foundation Scholarship awardees for the 2013-14 academic year.
Ying Chen of Storrs Mansfield, was awarded the President's Charity Game Scholarship. Chen's major is Accounting.
Matthew Pappalardo of Mansfield Center, was awarded the Grace F. Enggas Scholarship. Pappalardo's major is Visual Arts/Digital Art and Design and his minor is Communication. He is the son of Anne M. and Ralph Pappalardo of Mansfield Center.
Zoraida Villalobos of Storrs Mansfield, was awarded the Dr. Juliette P. Burstermann Scholarship and The Meehan & Daughters Real Estate and Development Endowed Scholarship. Villalobos's major is Pre-Secondary Education Certification and Mathematics.
More than 325 Eastern students received ECSU Foundation Scholarships at a special reception on April 11. The total amount of scholarship funds awarded by the ECSU Foundation totaled more than $500,000, a record amount.
The ECSU Foundation's scholarship awards are coordinated by the Office of Institutional Advancement. According to Kenneth DeLisa, vice president for institutional advancement, "ECSU Foundation scholarships recognize students in good academic standing and help provide important financial support so that our students can reach their goal of obtaining a college degree. Our ability to provide this level of scholarship support is due to the generosity of alumni and other donors, who recognize the value of investing in today's students as they prepare to be tomorrow's citizen leaders."
