Ex-UConn Mac 'N' Cheese Student Granted Probation
The student's drunken tirade went viral in October when he was refused service at a campus eatery and accosted the restaurant manager.
The ex-University of Connecticut student whose drunken, profanity laced tirade at a campus restaurant manager who refused to sell him jalapeno mac ‘n’ cheese went viral, has been granted a special form of probation by a Connecticut Superior Court judge.
Superior Court Judge John Farley on Monday granted Luke Gatti’s application for accelerated rehabilitation on in connection with the Oct. 4 incident that was captured on video and posted on YouTube.
The 19-year-old was contrite during the court appearance in upstate Vernon, according to The Courant. Farley reportedly told the Bayville, NY resident that he already paid the price for his behavior. Gatti was charged with breach of peace and criminal trespass after he repeatedly shoved and poked the manager.

If he successfully completes the year-long probation term, the charges will be erased from Gatti’s record. Gatti is no longer a student at the school although neither he nor the school have said whether he withdrew from classes or was expelled.
In the video, manager Dave Robinson could be heard telling Gatti that he wouldn’t be served because he was drunk. “You can’t come in here with an open bottle of booze. Think about it,” Robinson said. The manager accused the student of being under the influence and of underage drinking.

Gatti dared Robinson to call police who are seen arriving about eight minutes into the video. As a UConn Police officer handcuffed him, Gatti could be heard proclaiming, “I am absolutely F---ed.” The video also became the subject of a parody produced by Hollywood actor Justin Theroux, the husband of actress Jennifer Aniston.
Weeks after the incident Gatti posted his own YouTube video apologizing for his behavior.
Farley said he was giving Gatti credit for traveling to Central America to seek the Robinson’s forgiveness, according to The Courant story that can be found here. Robinson previously said he forgave Gatti.
