UPDATE: Ex-UConn Mac 'n' Cheese Student Seeks Probation
Lawyers for the former student filed an application for accelerated rehabilitation in court Monday.

The former University of Connecticut student whose profanity-laced tirade at food service manager over jalapeño, bacon mac ‘n’ cheese went viral last month, reportedly is seeking a special form of probation.
Lawyers for Luke Gatti, 19, of Bayville, NY, on Monday filed an application for accelerated rehabilitation during an appearance in Rockville Superior Court. Gatti, who was scheduled to be arraigned on second-degree breach of peace and first-degree criminal trespass charges filed in connection with the Oct. 4 incident at the Storrs campus, did not appear in court, according to WTIC.

Accelerated rehabilitation is a form of probation that, if successfully completed, the arrest record is erased.

The former University of Connecticut student whose profanity-laced tirade at food service worker over jalapeño, bacon mac ‘n’ cheese went viral, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges stemming from the October incident.
Luke Gatti was charged with second-degree breach of peace and first-degree criminal trespass on Oct. 4 after his nine-minute rant at a restaurant manager on the Storrs campus. The rant involved nonstop insults and vulgarities, and shoving the restaurant manager who told Gatti he would not be served his desired bacon jalapeño mac ‘n’ cheese because the student was drunk.
The 19-year-old Gatti, of Bayville, NY, has been free on $1,500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on Monday, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website. He no longer attends UConn but it is unclear whether Gatti chose to leave or was expelled.
Gatti subsequently posted an apology video on You Tube. The video taken of Gatti’s meltdown went viral on You Tube and was the subject of a parody produced by Hollywood actor Justin Theroux.
