HuskyTHON Dance Marathon, Donation Reveal Set For Saturday

STORRS, CT - On Saturday, more than 4,000 students at the University of Connecticut will be dancing for 18 hours to celebrate their year-long fundraising efforts for the patients and families who rely on Connecticut Children's Medical Center for pediatric care.

The 18-hour Dance Marathon will take place in the Hugh S. Greer Field House from
6 to midnight. Last year, HuskyTHON 2024 raised a record-breaking $1,736,591.22, adding to the
$13 million-plus raised in over the past 26 years.

Participants have been fundraising since June 1.

In addition to dancing, HuskyTHON participants, Connecticut Children's

patient ambassador families, and community guests can participate in a variety of events that include sunrise yoga, zumba, the Miracle Family Welcome Tunnel, UConn's Got Talent,
Wavy McGrady, and the year-long fundraising total reveal at midnight.

HuskyTHON is the largest student-run organization at UConn, the largest Miracle
Network Dance Marathon in the country by participation, and the second-largest fundraising
Miracle Network Dance Marathon in the country. HuskyTHON’s impact has grown over the past
26 years while maintaining the same mission — "to change kids' health and
change the future."

HuskyTHON is using the campaign "Change the Tide" to connect its fundraising and dedication to the cause. Change the Tide means to turn the challenges faced by the Connecticut Children’s patients into opportunities for a fuller life.

"The HuskyTHON community harnesses the boundless energy and passion of each other to create waves of change that will be felt for generations. With your help, one day children can live in a world free from childhood illness," organizers said.
