Mansfield Arrests Include Strangulation, Identity Theft

June 5
On June 5 at approximately 2:54 p.m., was conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Route 195 in Mansfield at the Best Western Hotel. Luis S. Diaz, 38, of 5 Hope St. in Willimantic, was transported to Troop C and charged with misuse of plates, operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to maintain insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and articles/ornament obstructing view. He was released, posting a $1,000 surety bond.

Troop Cis investigating an incident which occurred on June 7 between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. at the Mansfield Hollow State Park in the town of Mansfield in which a window was broken on a vehicle and a purse was stolen. Anyone who saw or has information about this incident is requested to contact TFC Miller at 860-896-3222 ext. 8057.

Troopers were dispatched to investigate a shoplifting incident at Kohl’s department store located at the East Brook Mall. Investigation identified the vehicle that the two feamles used to depart the store. A check of the vehicle owner’s address resulted in the arrest of the two females. Ieshia Madera, 23, of 337 Jeffrey Rd. in Willimantic, was charged with interfereing with an officer and Natanya Roman, 22, was charged with sixth-degree larceny: shoplifting and interfering with an officer.
June 11
Shaun C. Loree, 36, of 96 South Ridge Dr. in Willimantic, was placed under arrest on an active arrest warrant signed by Rockville Superior Court for an incident that took place in Mansfield. He was charged with fourth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card, receipt of money/goods/services by illegal credit card use, second-degree identity theft, and criminal impersonation.
June 12
On June 12 at 10:30 p.m., Troop Creceived a call from the owner of the Amir Mobil Gas station on Route 32 in Mansfield at the Willimantic town line. The owner advised that he was on another phone with an attendant who was at the gas station, working alone. An unknown male suspect walked into the store wearing a balck hooded sweatshirt, tan pants, and dark sneakers and demanded money from the store clerk. No weapon was shown but was implied. An unknown amount of cash was taken. The lone male suspect left on foot and Trooper Zella and his K9 partner conducted a track with negative results. No injuries were reported to the store clerk. EDMC detectives responded and assumed the investigation. Evidence was located and seized at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Det. Utermarck and EDMC detectives. Anyong with information is asked to contact deectives at Troop C at 860-896-3230.
June 13
On June 13 at approximately 3:19 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the Amir Mobil Gas Station on Route 32 in Mansfield for an active larceny in progress. The clerk stated that a white male came into the store and tried to take the charity jar at the front desk. The clerk stated that she told the male to put it back, which he did and ran off. The arrestee was latered located, by state police and the Willimantic Police Department with a K9, at 88 West Ave. in Willimantic at his girlfriend’s house. Kwitzpatrick Duffany, 27, of 334 Mansfield Ave. in Willimantic, was charged with criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and has a court date of June 24.
During the investigation of a suspicious incident in Mansfield, Lorrie Fox-Mcguire, 56, of 83 North St. in Willimantic, gave consent for the search of her purse. Inside the purse were two glass smoking pipes, which she admitted were used for narcotics.Fox-Mcguire was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and has a court date of June 30.
June 17
Jessica A. Baker, 30, of 246 Woodland Rd. in Mansfield, was observed by store security at Kohl’s department store selecting and concealing numerous items of merchandise. Upon exiting the store, security was unsuccessful in apprehending her and called police for assistance. Troopers located Baker a short distance away and conducted a motor vehicle stop, where all stolen merchandise was recovered. Baker was charged with sixth-degree larceny.
Alexander Cambrelen, 23, of 519 Mansfield City Rd. in Mansfield, under the authority of Habeas issued by Rockville Superior Court, was transported from Hartford Correctional Center to the court so that an active arrest warrant could be served. He was placed under arrest for third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and third-degree strangulation. Cambrelen was processed and held on a $35,000 bond set by the court.
